On June 20, 2011 Fujitsu Social Science Laboratory Ltd. and Fujitsu Component Ltd. began providing software that displays power consumption, which helps users save electricity.

The software has two functions. First, it arranges electric power consumption data on PCs. Second, it shows users in an easy-to-understand manner electric power consumption data obtained from a smart outlet, a kind of power supply tap, which has the industry's smallest power sensor built into it. A smart outlet measures the power consumption of each device connected to it, allowing users to manage power supply. The smart outlet, combined with the software, enables power consumption measurement for each and every smart outlet. Users are then able to form detailed strategies to save power.

Being able to easily view their power consumption permits users to take specific power-saving measures such as shifting their peak time of power consumption. The software also automatically displays messages suggesting power saving, helping users to motivate themselves to save power.

The software is available at Fujitsu Social Science Laboratory's homepage for free downloading for the users of Fujitsu Component's smart outlet.
