Leopalace21 Corp., a real estate and lettings company specializing in property construction, sales, lettings and management, announced on April 16, 2011, that it will start the full-scale introduction of photovoltaic (PV) systems in existing apartments currently managed by the company, as well as in newly-built residences.

The company has already received pre-orders for 60 houses at the construction site established in March 2011, and expects to receive orders for a total of 3,000 houses by the end of March 2012. The total output of the PV system will be 25,500 kilowatts, which is anticipated to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 7,693 tons annually.

Apartment owners will cover the cost for installing solar panels on their roofs with an output power ranging from 3.6 to 9.9 kilowatts. The generated electricity will be used to power common areas, and all profits from selling surplus electricity will go to the owners.
