MyVoice Communications, Inc., a Japanese Internet research company, released on May 18, 2007, the results of its survey on concerns about global warming. The survey was conducted from April 1 to 5, collecting 17,500 responses. According to the results, 90 percent of the respondents realized impacts of global warming in their daily lives: 34 percent felt it "strongly" and 56 percent "somewhat." People who felt threatened by global warming accounted for 87 percent of the total.

Asked about the global warming prevention measures they know, their choices were as follows: "Cool Biz" campaign, a summer dress code promoted by the Ministry of the Environment (90%); "Warm Biz" campaign, a autumn-winter dress code by the ministry (82%); the Kyoto Protocol (75%); and "Team Minus 6 Percent" campaign, a national campaign to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by six percent (62%).

In answering the question of what efforts people have made, "setting air conditioners and heating units at moderate temperatures" was ranked as the top, chosen by 67 percent of the respondents, followed by "saving electricity" (59%) and "saving water" (56%). Also ranked high on the list of activities people want to carry out in the future, it appears these efforts are seen as being effective and practical.

Regarding a question on "An Inconvenient Truth," an American documentary film on the theme of global warming, only four percent of the respondents had seen the film. While 45 percent said they want to watch it if given the chance, 31 percent didn't even know the film.
