IBM Japan Counts Environmental Improvements in Personnel Evaluations

IBM Japan Ltd. introduced a new personnel system that mandates all employees to set environmental improvement objectives such as energy saving and resource saving, and reflects their accomplishments in staff appraisals and salary increases.

Starting this year, IBM Japan added these individual objectives for environmental improvement to the conventional objectives for sales results, and will evaluate and reflect an individual's accomplishments in the following year's salary increases and bonuses.
