Japanese Fashion Brand Operates Suit Trade-In Program

Keywords: Non-manufacturing industry Reduce / Reuse / Recycle

A Japanese fashion brand for men and women, EDIFICE (Baycrew's Co., Ltd.), extended the period of its suit trade-in program, originally planned to operate from February 25 to March 31, 2011, to end on April 17, 2011. Trade-in suits will be donated to "MOTTAINAI," and will then be sold at flea markets for recycling. The proceeds of all sales will be donated to the Green Belt Movement (GBM).

"MOTTAINAI" is a campaign initiated by Dr. Wangari Maathai, a Nobel Peace Prize Laureate from Kenya. GBM, a non-governmental organization founded in 1977 by Dr. Wangari, promotes afforestation movements throughout Africa, including Kenya.

Suits of any brand, either men's or women's, can be traded-in for a 5,000 yen (about U.S.$60) EDIFICE discount coupon for new suits.
