Japanese net-media company Ishare Inc. released the results of a survey on LED lightbulbs targeting its web service customers on May 24, 2010. The survey shows that 14.8 percent of respondents are currently using LED lightbulbs at home, while 64.5 percent are willing to purchase them the next time they replace their old lightbulbs.

LED lightbulbs offer the advantages of significantly lower power consumption and a longer lifetime than incandescent lightbulbs. On the other hand, there are some points to be considered when replacing incandescent bulbs with LED bulbs, such as differences in size or the quality of light.

Although users of LED-lightbulbs account for one in seven respondents at this time, an expansion of the number of future users is expected as the result of the survey.
