Mitsubishi Electric Discontinues Incinerators

Mitsubishi Electric Corporation in Japan plans to stop the use of incinerators for factory waste by August 2002, and to outsource disposal to outside operators.
This move is to comply with new tough regulations. For example, Japan's Law Concerning Special Measures against Dioxins reduces the allowable limit for dioxin content from 80 to less than 1 nanogram per 1 cubic meter.
