AsMama Inc., a Japanese social entrepreneurship company established in November 2009 to aid in child raising, has developed and is operating an advanced version of a childcare sharing service with the aim to link service users and neighboring service provider using cell phones.

One can enroll as a member of the service using a personal computer or a cell phone. As the network grows, members receive support from a wide variety of acquaintances, primarily consisting of parents of children in neighboring areas at a cost of 500 yen (about U.S.$ 5.1) per hour. When one cannot find the necessary support in a given area, one can receive aid from another person designated by the company.

Members can ask others to take their children to and from home and aid in childcare, while they themselves can be offer support using their child raising experiences when they have time, thus earning money. AsMama provides members with free training courses, as well as insurance for their activities. The company organizes parent-child events and exchange meetings for members, thus fostering a safe relationship among familiar members.
