Fujitsu Ltd. announced on June 9, 2010 that it would offer its clients the company's guidelines on biodiversity. The guidelines aim to introduce activities related to biodiversity conservation into the supply chain.

The company created the guidelines for its clients by reediting the biodiversity guidelines for the Fujitsu Group based on the Fujitsu Group Biodiversity Action Principles, which had been developed by the company in October 2009. It lists a wide variety of biodiversity conservation practices that the company has matched to its various business activities.

The main contents of the guidelines are as follows: biodiversity and the present situation; the importance of biodiversity conservation in its environmental activities; the role of corporations; approaches for activities; considerations for biodiversity in business activities; and the promotion of public awareness of biodiversity.

The company signed the Business and Biodiversity Initiative at the Ninth Meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity in May 2008. The company also made the Leadership Declaration to promise not only to promote biodiversity conservation activities in its own businesses, but also to collaborate with its clients by sharing activity goals.
