Yuasa Trading Co., a company specialized in machine tools, industrial equipment, housing, etc., has developed a method of installing solar panels using magnets called "Magmoren." The new method was developed jointly with Eijyu Sangyo, a company with well-proven experience in waterproof metal roofing. Sales of the new product started in September 2011.

With the new installation method, solar panels can be fixed on waterproof metal roofing using magnets instead of drilling holes for mounting hardware, and can be easily removed for maintenance.

The Japan Testing Center for Construction Materials conducted resistance tests on the Magmoren magnet system under the same conditions as an earthquake of 300 Gal, using seismic waves the same strength as those measured during the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake, as well as under winds as strong as during a typhoon, blowing at a speed of 50 meters per second. In both tests, no misalignment of the solar panels attached to roofing was detected, which confirmed the durability of the new installation method.

While the use of solar power generation systems has been rapidly growing more popular, also increasing are problems with sloppy installation of panels that can damage roofs and cause leaks, one of the reasons this new method was developed.
