Green Energy Adventure (GEA), a non-governmental organization in Japan, aims to raise awareness and promote "green energy," such as fuel cells, solar and wind power, through adventure activities and events.

GEA is led by a volunteer staff members who in 1990 succeeded in a 4,000-kilometer flight over North America in a solar-powered airplane named the Sunseeker.

In addition to its adventure projects, GEA gives lectures on green energy and also participates in or organizes various events, such fuel-cell model car races and concerts powered by solar power, where people can learn more about green energy while having fun.

In the summer of 2005, GEA plans to embark on an adventure of traveling through Iceland in a vehicle it made that is powered by fuel cells, solar and wind energy. All electricity required during the tour will also be supplied by photovoltaic and wind power generators. Through this project, GEA intends to demonstrate the feasibility of its stand-alone power generation system, a combination of fuel cells and renewable energy, as a system suitable for the region.
