Environmental Technology Information Network Website Established

On 22 August 2003, Japan's Ministry of the Environment, working together with the National Institute for Environmental Studies, an independent administrative institution, established the Information Network on Environmental Technology, a web portal that aims to gather and transmit information about environmental technologies, and started to provide information to the public through their website.

The contents of the website include the following:
-Forum for Environmental Technology Exchanges, where information about advanced environmental technologies can be accessed and sent out
-What's New on Environmental Technology, based on press releases from ministries and corporations
-Library of Environmental Technology, which provides clear explanations of environmental technologies that have attracted the public's attention

The website is designed to disseminate technology that contributes to environmental conservation and raise public awareness about them.
